2013 CAPCSD Conference: Putting the Pieces Together
April 17 - 20, 2013
Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort
7677 N. 16th Street Phoenix, AZ
The 2013 Conference Planning Committee has been hard at work. All Call for Paper proposals have been reviewed and speakers were notified in November 2012. It is going to be a great conference and we cannot wait to see you there. Registration and program information will be posted by February 15th.
On Wednesday, April 17, the pre-conference workshop is on the Impact of Reimbursement on CSD education. The workshop will focus on how Medicare and Medicaid guidelines influence the educational climate of CSD programs and the need for programs to understand how healthcare financing will shape evidence-based practices, outcome measures and the sustainability of our professions.
On Thursday, April 18, we will return to a traditional plenary format. The plenary will address the need for programs to evaluate the pieces of the academic puzzle to best support their mission and values and how to thrive moving forward. On Friday, April 19, the second plenary session will focus on social media. Both Thursday and Friday plenary sessions will be followed by a variety of sessions that focus on important CSD academic and clinical issues. On Saturday morning, April 20, the annual business meeting is scheduled along with a sessions on SLP-D and audiology accreditation.
Would you like to mentor a newcomer? The conference planning committee is looking for experienced CAPCSD attendees to help mentor a newcomer throughout the conference beginning Wednesday evening. If you are interested in volunteering please email Lisa Scott at Lisa.Scott@cci.fsu.edu.
