Congratulations! Out of 97 institutions that submitted the 2017 CSD Education Survey in time to be included in the 2nd drawing for a free registration to the 2018 CAPCSD Conference in Austin, Texas on April 11-14, 2018; the University of Montevallo was randomly selected for a complimentary registration.



Congratulations! 54 institutions submitted the 2017 CSD Education Survey in time to be included in the September drawing for a free registration to the 2017 ASHA convention. A.T. Still University – Arizona School of Health Sciences was identified as the winner.

2018 Honors and Awards Call For Nominations

As you know, each year individuals who have made contributions to CAPCSD and to the discipline of Communication Sciences and Disorders are honored at our annual conference.  We encourage you to consider those colleagues whom you know to be deserving of recognition and nominate them. We encourage you to click here and look at the list of past awardees, noting those who are not on the list but should be. Below are descriptions and criteria for the three Honors and Awards categories and the process for submitting a nomination.

Honors and Awards Categories

Honors of the Council
Presented to those individuals whose contributions to the Council and/or to academic education in Communication Sciences and Disorders have been of such magnitude that their impact on the Council or on the education of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, or speech and hearing scientists – through clinical practice, teaching, research, administration, service, or legislative activity is recognized throughout the professional community. The Honors of the Council is the highest honor bestowed by the Council.

Distinguished Contribution Award
Presented to individuals, agencies, businesses, or organizations in recognition of significant and/or sustained service or contributions to the Council that have enhanced the Council’s ability to serve its membership or which have effectively enriched education in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Excellence in Diversity Award
Presented to an individual, individuals, or academic program making significant contributions to achieving diversity in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Recipients of this award are individuals or academic programs that have made a significant contribution to increasing the presence of under-represented populations in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

How to Submit a Nomination
To submit a nomination, click here to access the fillable PDF form and provide the following:

  • Name, affiliation, and contact information for the nominee
  • Support letter (not more than 3 pages) that provides a rationale for the specific award and explanation of why the nominee is deserving of the award
  • Nominee’s CV

Presentation of Awards
Honors and Awards will be presented at the CAPCSD 2018 Conference Awards Reception on Thursday, April 12th, at the Hilton Austin.
