CAPCSD Committee Applications Now Open

,CAPCSD is a volunteer-based organization that provides the best solution-centered support for CSD programs.  CAPCSD volunteers are the organization's backbone and help us serve our 360+ member programs and 4,000 faculty.

CAPCSD seeks members such as Chairs, Program Directors, Graduate Coordinators, Clinic Directors, Faculty, Deans, and Provosts. Committees range from involvement in conference planning, training and development, academic and clinical-focused initiatives to task force work on targeted topics.

 

Applications will close on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

 

All committee terms run for two years and begin on July 1, 2026*.

In addition to your contact information, you will be asked to provide your CV and answer the three questions below to demonstrate your interest in experience, expertise, and commitment to volunteering on a CAPCSD committee. Please be prepared to answer these questions before you start your application. Each question has a 100-word limit.

  • What lived and professional experiences do you have relevant to CAPCSD’s mission and vision, and how will you use them to bring CAPCSD forward?
  • Do you have specific activities (i.e., evidence) from your professional life, CAPCSD or otherwise, that speak to you being a good fit for the Academic Affairs Committee?
  • How will you balance committee activities with your other professional duties and commitments? What time and effort can you commit to participate in the work of the committee?

Interprofessional Education/Interprofessional Practice (IPE/IPP) Committee

 

Members of the IPE/IPP Committee should have a passion for interprofessional practice (IPP), educating the next generation of providers about IPP, networking with colleagues around this topic, and developing materials and resources for members/member programs.

We are looking for one (1) audiologist and one (1) speech-language pathologist.

What kind of time commitment can I expect? 
IPE/IPP members are expected to participate in monthly virtual meetings to accomplish tasks associated with the committee's mission. These include creating materials to promote IPE/IPP and innovative programming to build capacity and networking around IPE/IPP for member programs. The time commitment between meetings varies based on the task at hand.

Desired Qualifications
Experience as content matter experts in Interprofessional Practice and Education are especially valued in the selection process. We are especially committed to diversifying our committee representation and welcome applications from members in minority serving institutions. We also welcome applications from individuals in leadership and administrative positions (Clinic Director, Chair, Associate Deans, Deans) in a university setting.

Academy of Inclusive Practice Planning Committee

 

The CAPCSD Academy of Inclusive Practice Planning Committee, formerly the DEI Academy, serves as a professional learning and transformation hub that advances equity-centered practice across clinical education, teaching, research, leadership, and administration. Focused on human-centered leadership and well-being, the Academy equips professionals with innovative strategies to navigate the complexities and ethical responsibilities of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in alignment with our professional Code of Ethics.
As an Academy Planning Committee Member, you will:
  • Directly influence the design and success of the 2027 Academy of Inclusive Practice.
  • Help identify and develop session topics and speakers.
  • Contribute to strategies that promote leadership, well-being, and best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Support the creation of additional resources and networking opportunities for attendees.

We are looking for three (3) audiologists and three (3) speech-language pathologists.

What kind of time commitment can I expect?
This is a working committee. Members can anticipate meeting monthly for up to 90 minutes with some offline work and during the initial planning process meetings may occur every week or two to get the planning started. The anticipated workload, including meetings, is approximately 5-7 hours per month. Activities include program planning, reviewing proposals, shaping learning objectives, and supporting follow-up initiatives such as webinars.

Desired Qualifications
Interested candidates must meet the following required qualifications and be willing to carry out the duties of the CAPCSD Academy of Inclusive Practice Planning committee as outlined below.

  • An appointment at a CAPCSD member program.
  • The ability to network with professional peers and serve in a volunteer role.
  • A working knowledge of and/or interest in planning education programs, a strong interest and/or knowledge base in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (prior experience planning events with ASHA, CAPCSD, AAA, NBASLH, your state association, etc.) is desirable.
