Coronavirus Preparedness

CAPCSD leadership and staff are looking forward to seeing you in New Orleans at the 2020 conference on April 22-25. CAPCSD is communicating regularly with the New Orleans Marriott and New Orleans & Company (formerly the New Orleans Convention & Visitor Bureau) to ensure that we have the most up to date information regarding New Orleans and the coronavirus.

New Orleans & Company is in daily contact with Dr. Jen Avegno, Director of the New Orleans Health Department, as well as state and federal health experts to navigate coronavirus and how it impacts New Orleans. They have prepared a toolkit that includes all the latest information about coronavirus and the risk level it poses for travel to New Orleans, and that risk level is currently very low. To see the toolkit click here -https://www.neworleans.com/coronavirus-preparedness-in-new-orleans/.

New Orleans & Company intends to continue providing all the reliable information from expert sources available so that visitors, members and residents can make informed decisions based on facts, not fear. Based on what they are hearing from health expert partners, there is currently no reason to cancel events or domestic travel in the U.S. There is absolutely no official guidance from health experts that people need to be reconsidering travel in the U.S. New Orleans & Company is also participating in daily phone calls with experts to stay abreast of this issue as it evolves.
