IVS Clinical Education Seed Grant
Program Description
The Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) promotes research in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences. In support of this goal, Intelligent Video Solutions has generously agreed to fund two $5,000 seed grants to support scholarship in evidence-based clinical education in speech, language, and hearing sciences. This award is intended to increase our understanding and implementation of evidence-based clinical teaching approaches or general clinical education pedagogy that meets the needs of our increasingly diverse student body.
Eligibility Requirements
Award Amount
Applicants must be employed at a CAPCSD member institution. Multiple applications from the same member institution will be considered. Applicants may hold academic and/or clinical appointments and may apply as an individual or as part of a collaborative team.
Selected applicants must implement and complete the proposed project within a one-year project period. Following project completion, recipients are required to submit a final report to CAPCSD within six months of the project end date. The report should summarize project outcomes, results, lessons learned, and the potential benefits and applicability of the project for other CAPCSD member programs.
Two $5,000 awards will be made. Funds will be disbursed to the designated principal investigator through their institution. The awardee must follow their university’s Grant Management Office requirements for disbursement of the seed grant.
Funding will not cover institutional overhead, indirect costs, or travel costs for conventions or meetings. There are no other restrictions, but the case must be clear on how the funds are essential to conduct the research in light of other resources or support available to the investigators. A detailed budget and budget justification are required as part of the application.
